will not have to sacrifice size or features for the water
resistant capability of this digital camera. The Optio 33WR
is also very light and compact - Iit's face measures only
about 3 x 3 inches an it's only an inch-and-half thick. The

including: movie mode with sound and voice memo, built-in
flash, a high-precision 1.6 inch LCD monitor, an optical viewfinder,
and a diverse range of shooting and macro modes. The Optio

batteries. An AC adapter is also available to power the camera.

to retrieve, view, manage, print, enhance and share your digital
photos.
Small and low-weight camera for outdoor
sports users but... This is my third camera, after 2 nikons.
I use it to take pictures during my bike rides, and for it
is enough light and small. The buttons are small and impossible
tu push with gloves, and the lens are without any cover, so
is easy to get fingerprints or other dirtness over it. The
image quality is good but not the best for its category. The
quality also drop down in internal or low-lighting situations,
where the flash not always is accurate. Autofocus is quite
slow, there is a 1.5 sec. delay when you shoot. Some camera
software options are without any utiliity, but is overall
easy to use. Conclusions: Water resistant, small, low weight
: if you need therse three things, this camera is for you.

The water-resistant, 3.2-megapixel Optio 33WR is better equipped
than most of us to handle inclement weather. Outfitted with
Pentax extras, this compact camera offers a broad array of
features that stretch the bounds of snapshot photography.
Its 2.8X zoom lens provides enough flexibility for taking
typical point-and-shoot pictures, and its photo quality is
decent, although not above average for its class. more

The Optio 33WR is one of the latest offerings from Pentax,
a camera maker with a long tradition in the film-based world,
but one of the newer entrants to the digital arena. They initially
co-developed several cameras with Hewlett Packard, a relationship
that has since ended. For their current lineup which spans
the gamut from entry level right up to the *ist D digital
SLR, the company offers a wide range of digicams entirely
of their own design. Compact, well-designed cameras have become
something of a specialty for them, as seen in their "Optio"
lineup. The current Optio line consists of a wide range of
models, with 3x or 5x optical zoom lenses and three-, four-
and five-megapixel sensors. more
