Just purchased this camera and have been
very satisfied, Excellent ease of use, fell in love with the
very sharp(and large) LCD screen and its zoom capabilities.
Pictures appear just as sharp as on my Minolta 5xi with 100-300
zoom at 300 mm. Plus it gets closer @ 380mm. I'm also impressed
with its low light capabilities, and the ablility to almost
see in the dark with it, the veiwfinder and LCD screen keep
getting brighter as light decreases, very handy feature. I
can recommend this camera highly. more

A 38mm-to-380mm (the 35mm-camera equivalent) 10X optical zoom
lens and some manual exposure controls put the 4-megapixel
EasyShare DX6490 near the top of Kodak's consumer product
line. This dSLR-style model matches its siblings in ease of
use but lacks the refinements and the image quality that would
nudge it up to advanced-amateur status. more

Eastman Kodak's "EasyShare" line of digital cameras
have consistently impressed me as living up to their name,
being one of the most unfailingly easy to use line of digicams
out there. With the new EasyShare DX6490 though, Kodak moves
beyond pure ease of use (although the camera is still very
easy to use in full-auto mode) to encompass a range of capabilities
that allow the DX6490 to satisfy the desires of "enthusiast"
photographers as well. While EasyShare cameras have always
had very good color and excellent white balance systems, their
lens quality was generally appropriate to the "consumer"
market in which they played, and exposure flexibility was
generally very limited. more
