Comments about Sony A230 DSLR Camera w/ SAL1855 DT 18-55mm Zoom Lens (Black):

This camera is great for the begining photographer, you get a great lens and camera for a great price.

Image quality is a little less sharp and holds less detail at higer ISO speeds, compared to the same megipixel cameras like nikon, and Canon. So if you shoot at low light and high ISO then this camera may not be the best choice. Canon and nikon have less grain blur and noise at the same high ISO.

A plus to the sony a230 excels at being easy to use, using the SteadyShot Inside image stabilization will quickly have your images looking sharp and amazing!

Overall if your starting out in the digital SLR world of photography this camera is a great choice!

I disagree with another post about the blurry images in the sport mode. 95% of my shooting is action motorsports, mtn biking, etc.. and always a good clear shots with both my Alpha cameras. I would think theres a significant degree of operator error if someone would get consistantly bad shots.

I bought this camera recently to take pictures of my son during the summer AAU basketball season. I just came back from a tourney and the pictures are fabulous, the camera easy to use, and a great price. I highly recommend this camera to anyone for sporting events. However, make sure you get the 200mm lens as it makes taking pictures easy from anywhere in the stands. Note that there is a programmed setting for sports, which is what I used to take the pictures.
