For usage of the very power hungry VR lenses, this additional battery capacity makes the outfit workable. The internal clips (locking pins) aren't robust enough for true field use in my opinion, so extra care must be taken. Back to the drawing boards you guys.

I loved the battery pack and it served me well until the little white tabs on the inside of the battery chamber broke. Their purpose is to hold the batteries in place. Somehow they manage to get on the wrong side of a spring lever and can't be fixed w/o sending it in. Guess how much nikon wants to charge me to fix those little white tabs..[$] I wont pay for it, that is ridiculous.

By adding the MBD200 to the Nikon D200 you easily balance out the "top heaviness" of the camera body. This battery pack makes the D200 feel more comfortable in your hands, and doubles your shooting power by adding a second battery which the D200 seriously needs since it is a "power hog".

Another very handy feature of the MBD200 is the addition of the vertical controls right where they are needed. With the D200, if you try to take vertical photos it is very uncomfortable and you are in a very awkward position, which an affect the outcome of the photo. With the MBD200, the main controls are once again right back where they are supposed to be, even with the camera in a vertical shooting position. Very handy!

I recommend all owners of the D200 to seriously consider adding the MBD200, they will not be dissapointed.

You can load 2 EN-EL3e for long lasting shooting experience, and in case you run out of steam sooner than expected, you can load six AA (NiMH/ NiCD/ NiMn) batteries in the supplied cartridge. In addition to that, it enhances the camera's look/feel and also great for shooting vertically. In my view it is a must have accessory for your D200.
