Comments about Cables To Go Cables To Go 4ft iPod Compatible 3.5mm Dock to Connector Audio Cable:

This item has VGood quality and a great price to match. I use this Line-Level dock with my AKG701 headphones and HeadRoom Micro Portable Headphone Amp with great results. Because you are using a line-level output from your iPod, you are getting a much cleaner sound when compared to using the iPod headphone jack. By using the proper interconnect cables and or adaptors, you can take the output from your iPod and plug it into any receiver, recorder, stereo player etc. that accepts a line-level input. Try it, you'll like it...

The reason it works better is that the dock connection is a line out connection. Volume is no longer controlled by the ipod but only by the stereo that is is plugged into. It is a much cleaner sound and will play louder than it does through the earphone jack (which limits the volume so you don't blow your ears out.) A good stereo and this cable will make the ipod sound better than most of those ipod dock stereos.
