The PT6021 Speaker System delivers pure, clean, uncluttered audio. High highs. Low lows. And, best of all, because it features InConcert technology, a fusion of pro audio line-array and tri-amp technologies, the sound feels like its being directed right at you. InConcert Technology minimizes reverb from floors and ceilings. And volume drop-off is negligible even when you walk to the back of a big room.

Comments about Altec Lansing Altec Lansing PT6021 2.1 Speaker System:
These have good sound quality for a set of "computer speakers," including excellent stereo imaging. However, mine has a substantial hum from the subwoofer/amplifier unit any time it is plugged in, i.e., even if it is not turned on. Presumably, this is the transformer. It is not eliminated by moving cables or plugging into a different outlet. The hum becomes louder when the speakers are turned on. Once you play music, the hum is not noticeable, but otherwise it is quite noticeable and annoying. I would recommend buying only from a place with easy returns. I don't know if this hum issue is inherent to the design, or peculiar to my particular set.
