Deep color filters such as Red, Yellow, Orange and Green are used to manipulate contrast with Black & White films, though they can also be used effectively with color films for color special effects. With Black & White films colors in the original scene which are unlike the filter color will be rendered darkly. For instance, many people use red filters to dramatically darken blue skies in their Black & White photos.

Quantaray circular polarized filter I use it for winter pictures on sunny days it cuts the glare off of the snow and brightens the other colors.
I allso took pictures by water and it cut the glare off the water. I love it.
I also bought Quantaray yellow Y2 and Red R2
for sunsets I like the diferent looks each one gives.I'm very happy with the filters they are the first ones I have ever bought.
