Di II: Lenses are designed for exclusive use on digital cameras with smaller-size imagers and inherit all of the benefits of Tamron's Di products.

These lenses are not designed for 35mm film cameras and digital cameras with image sensors larger than 24mm x 16mm.

This new super wide-angle zoom lens, designed for exclusive use with digital SLR cameras using a sensor smaller than full frame, provides the extended focal length covering 17mm (when converted to 35mm format) that is desired by today's advanced and pro photographers using digital SLRs. The lens features an entirely new optical system designed for optimal performance with digital SLR cameras.

Tamron produces high performance, quality specification lenses utilizing the latest optical theory and technology. Tamron's high magnification zoom lenses, which are said to be particularly challenging technically, have received critical acclaim internationally for their innovative technology and have been selected for many prestigious awards. Tamron's technical excellence has also been recognized worldwide for macro lenses, wide angle lenses and telephoto lenses. And Tamron's new line of Di lenses for superior performance with digital SLR cameras, is garnering attention and awards from around the globe.

Comments about Tamron Tamron 11-18 mm F/4.5-5.6 SP AF Di II LD Aspherical (IF) Lens for Nikon:

This lens is reasonable and great for wide angle. I don't use it as much as I would like because I do lot's of sports and it's just too slow for that, but when I need photojourlistic shots or's first choice.
