SanDisk is proud to announce their newest format to the SD memory card family: Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) This 4 GB capacity memory card is rated Class 2 for speed and performance based on SD 2.0 specifications.

The SDHC memory card is a highly secure stamp-sized flash memory card, which can be used in a variety of digital products: digital music players, cellular phones, handheld PCs (HPCs), digital cameras, digital video camcorders, smart phones, car navigation systems and electronic books, that follows the SD 2.00 specifications. The SDHC card has a security feature for protection of copyrighted data.

What is SDHC?
To support the higher capacity needs, SD cards are now requiring a different design. The new SD 2.0 specifications - which supports 4 GB and up - is called Secure Digital High Capacity(SDHC). The SD Association has created and defined 3 speed classes to help you identify speed and performance capabilities/minimum requirements of SDHC cards and their SDHC host products. Cards address data (read and write) at numerous speeds. Many factors impede this performance. SDHC guarantees a minimum read and write speed necessary to handle recording high quality video and audio. SDHC Compatibility Information
Because SDHC works differently (supports the new higher capacity cards) this new card format is not backwards compatible with legacy SD format host devices.

This High Capacity card is very easy to use. I use it for everything, Sports (continuous shooting), still photos, candid photos, etc. It's memory is a good size for the amount of money & it's fast enough for continuous shooting. I would definately reccommend it.

I like using cards under 2 Gig for my photgraphy but for music I like to have a card that I can load down with hours of tunes. This was the reason I purchased this 4 GB card. This card has performed to above my expextaions in this "throw away" technology world and as proved to be reliable and error free in all media playback. My PC dates to before cards 1 GB and above but this card interface well with in when loaded in a device. I high recommend this card for your multi media needs.

I'm using the 4 GB card with a Canon xSi, and I can store hundreds of photos, but the 4 GB and larger required a USB reader in order to download the photos to my HP computer with the older 8-1 card reader because of a format incompatability.

I bought this to use in my Nikon D40, and with my camera set to large and fine pictures, I still have room to put 1.1k pictures on this thing. Granted, it gets bogged down a little if I run it in continuous mode, but how often do you really use that mode?

Sandisk makes wonderful products. I am so glad to see that cameras now have the ability to take cards as large as this 4GB one. This is the perfect size for a large-time shooter or someone who goes on vacation. Chances are you won't need another card. The speed is fast and I've only seen them malfunction when the user is not trying to use them properly, and even then, that's only been once. I use a lot of Sandisk products, they're my preferred brand.

I've recently graduated, but from a Communications and Broadcasting magnet program. Our resources, though limited, were quite amazing. Every chance I got to use the 4 Gig in either a point and shoot, or a D#, I never had to take time out and delete the pictures I decided weren't my best. That's an amazing feeling. I also have a memory stick pro in 4 gigs for my PSP, and the only thing that'd make me happier is an 8 gig.
