Might not work with regular USB cable unless plugged directly into the computer, not a hub.

Was easy to set up initially, but after taking it to another location to download, the unit would not let me add more info to use as backup. Have not been able to add more data since taking to another location.

We had to re-image our laptop which had all of the music and photos that we had collected over the years. I had just acquired this drive and was amazed at how easy it was to transfer all of the data on my laptop's hard drive to the eGo drive. The laptop is a bit older and so the USB is just a 1.1 version, but it still powered the drive without a problem. The disadvantage was that it took a bit longer to make the transfer. When the laptop's internal drive was wiped clean, I was able to restore everything without a hitch. I've also dropped the drive and have worried about being able to see the data, but with the "dropguard" protection, the drive is in great shape...
