I was pleasantly surprised when my ink cartridges lasted a long time. I am able to use this as my everyday printer with the use of an economical Black cartridge. Then when I want to print final photos I can swap out to the Gray cartridge to get finer quality. The results are beautiful prints from 4 x 5 to large format. On standard mode with HP multiuse paper I can print my pages from the net and my correspondence. When I print from Photoshop, using Printer selected color, I get images that are very true to what I see on my screen. The only drawback comes when I am printing from other applications such as InDesign or Illustrator. I don't get as accurate a rendering of color with those programs. Note: I have a G4 Mac and a 21" Apple monitor. We have the printer set up on a LAN with two Macs and one PC.
