This is one good laptop that is perfect as a gift for someone who needs a laptop as a gift, but the primary use is only internet. Buy this laptop and bundle it with a annual plan from AT&T for Internet and gift it to your in laws or parents. They would be happy to get a laptop and internet and also it is good on our pockets too...

I have been waiting for a low cost notebook computer with integrated wireless for a long time. Now it's here! Out of the box, it is easy to get connected to the internet within minutes and the Open Office software is nice to have.
I use the Eee PC 2G for data acquisition and business applications. The underlying Linux operating system is extremely powerful and offers capabilities waiting to be exploited by the tech savvy individual.
Asus gets my vote for well thought out engineering.
