I've had to return the device twice for repairs, in less than two months of ownership.I am very cautious about using the device again. I will give it one more time and if it fails again, I will have to return it to the manufacturer for a refund.I was in love with the product initially, but the love is wearing thin. I'm not sure if I would recommend this product to someone else, but then again, the specific product that I have could be faulty.

THE ARCHOS IS SIMPLE TO USE WITH GREAT TECH SUPPORT IF YOU RUN INTO TROUBLE. THE PICTURE AND SOUND ARE SUPERB WITH EASY TO USE ON SCREEN CONTROLS AS WELL AS TOUC CONTROLS ON THE UNIT. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE IS YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR ALL THE LITTLE ADDONS WHICH CAN RUN INTO SOME MONEY. STILL A GREAT PRODUCT.

I admit, I am a media junkie, I enjoy movie clips, sound files, music, pictures, etc. I found this to be the ultimate piece of hardware to have without having to lug around a laptop.

So many features for this little gem, this puts most of your Mp3 players to shame. You can view movies (.avi, .flv, DivX, etc), play your .mp3 files, drop and run with Shockwave files (.swf), .jpg pictures... and thats just right out of the gate. You also can freely move files to and from this without the use of third party bloatware such as iTunes, etc. You can drag and drop your files to and from the device with ease.

Oh and there is the WiFi, you can access, or stream your files from shared folders on your network. Or if you prefer, you can pick up the Opera browser plugin for an additional amount of
money.

And for those who have DRM protected media, this will support it. (I for one am against purchasing media that is DRM protected).

The audio on this unit is very impressive, there is an equalizer with preset and also the option for custom setting (which is a bonus). So you get to set the sound the way you want instead of Joe Schmoe's way from the factory.

The only con I found thus far is there was no place to store the stylus (plastic pen to use for the touch screen).

And it does not like spaces in the file name when you are trying to stream media from the network (simply rename the file without spaces and it corrects this problem).

Otherwise, I HIGHLY recommend this product, be it the 4 GB or the 30 GB model for all those who want to take their media with them.
