Quantaray''s 70-300mm f/4-5.6 LDO MACRO SUPER is one of several new telephoto zoom lenses. It is a compact Apochromatic telephoto zoom lens incorporating two Special Low Dispersion (LDO) glass elements in the front lens group, plus one Special Low Dispersion glass element in the rear lens group, to minimize chromatic aberration. It is a Tele-Macro Zoom lens, capable of focusing down to 1:2 (half life-size) reproduction ratio at 300mm focal length with superb optical quality. The lens materials used in this new product are lead and arsenic free ecological glass. 5 year warranty!

For the $$, Not Bad... but if you want "Good" glass, you have to pay more. Images are "soft" at 300mm and there is vignetting beyond 150mm. No depth of field scale so you have no way to know what your DOF is at any given f#. AF is slow but accurate. Sometimes hard to get out of the micro mode (have to put it into manual focus and take it out manually). All in all, the Nikon 70-300mm f/4-5.6 ED at [$]more is a much better deal for the money.

I got some great shots of fawns playing. It brought them up real close. Great lens for the money. I have had no problems with it. I have owned several Quantaray, this is my first auto focus. Works fien!

Have used this lense a bunch over many years with great result on both a std and digital Nikon. Finally had trouble with it in last 2 months can't focus anymore- but for a $[...] lense to go this long and do a good job is about all anyone can ever ask.

Not the best quality of lenses, but it gets the job done. Received as a Christmas gift would of purchased Pentax brand, but this is all the store had husband said. It is hard to attached to my camera and hard to attach its own hood. I guess for the price it will get the job done until I upgrade.
