Sigma’s 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG OS is a compact telephoto zoom lens. With a range that is useful for candid portraiture, capturing children playing in the backyard, amateur sports or even wildlife at the zoo this lens is usually the lens that photographers reach for first. It’s great on vacation for capturing scenic details or even groups of flowers in a garden. Comments about Sigma Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG OS Telephoto Zoom Lens for Nikon AF Digital SLR Cameras:

I bought this lens for my Nikon D60 and it was a great addition to my other lens's I own. The telephoto
feature is amazing it has the ability to capture and bring in close any subject you are shooting. I used mine when I was out cruising Puget Sound and I was very impressed with the clarity of the boats I was taking pictures of. Also for action shots it has the ability to track and capture the scene you are shooting. I have not had a chance with filming at night but I have heard it does a pretty good job.
The only con I have is it is just a bit on the heavy side. It is just a bit hard to hold steady but with a tripod it works fantastic. It has been been a lot of fun working with this lens, and it also has macro abilities as well. It comes with a hood but not a lens bag or any filters both should be included especially at this price in my opinion.
