I bought this on a whim since the price was hard to beat. Glad I did! Just two weeks ago I returned a top-of-the-line 70-200 VR lens because it just didn't seem worth the money. This Quantaray IS worth it! It is small, well built, and has a metal attachment - not the plastic ones most inexpensive lenses have. For under $150 you will not find a better lens for general purpose use.
I'm especially pleased with how quickly it focuses. It does NOT 'hunt' like most inexpensive zooms. Hits the mark dead on and quickly even in low light. Don't let the price or the brand fool you - this is a GREAT lens!

So the get what you pay for thing, you can't believe that there is a cheap lens out there that can put nikkor to shame. That being said, I can't think of any other lens I have played with @ this price that can touch it for quality
