The Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 EX Aspherical DG DF is one of several innovative products introduced by Sigma in 2001. This lens covers focal lengths from 24mm ultra wide angle to 70mm medium telephoto and provides a large f2.8 aperture at all focal lengths.

It's design employs three (3) aspherical lens elements to minimize spherical aberration, astigmatism and sagittal comma flare. The use of two (2) SLD (The Special Low Dispersion) glass elements results in excellent correction of chromatic aberration and provides a high level of optical performance and high contrast and resolution. The lens also incorporates a Dual Focus mechanism.

The 24-70mm f2.8 EX Aspherical DG DF is an easy to hold the lens, since the focusing ring does not rotate during auto focusing, and yet provides a wide focus ring for easy to use manual focus. Since the front of the lens does not rotate, it allows the use of a flower shaped Perfect Hood and facilities the use of polarizing filters.

The lens materials used in this new lens are lead and arsenic free ecological glass.

Comments about Sigma Sigma 24-70 mm f/2.8 EX DF Lens for Canon AF:

I've had this lense for about 10 months its mounted on my Rebel XTI and i just love it.. great general performance and outdoors but really excells in low light settings using a monopod.. Fast, Sharp Focus, Good action shots, Landscape ok but not quite wide enough, If you can't afford the L series lense like most this will do just fine for less than half the price.. A bit heavy but overall a good lense..

Comments about Sigma Sigma 24-70 mm f/2.8 EX DF Lens for Canon AF:

I like this lense for the price it's really a good piece of glass. Focus seems pretty good with minimal hunting. I smuggled it into the Daughtry concert and got some really great shots with no flash on 800-1600 iso and even some on 400.

Comments about Sigma Sigma 24-70 mm f/2.8 EX DF Lens for Canon AF:

It is a nice lens with fast and sharp focus, the color depth is impresive and works fine in low light conditions, goes where the f3.5´s can´t and it does the job just perfect.

It is got 9 blades that produce nice blured backgrounds and outstanding sharp images on the subject at front. Will do fine on portraids and general use, with impresive shade-sharpness-color combinated results.

Even for working it is got nice presence... yeah ! it is 82mm so it´s got the serious and pro look.
