Compact, Lightweight Superzoom lens, with high zoom ratio 11:1

This high zoom ratio lens is exclusively designed for digital SLR cameras and capable of covering a wide range of focal lengths from wide-angle to telephoto. Two Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass elements and two hybrid aspherical lenses offer the utmost correction for all types of aberrations, and enables this extended range super zoom lens to be housed in a compact and lightweight construction of 70mm (2.8 in.) diameter, and 78.1mm (3.1 in.) in length, and weighing just 405g/14.3oz. The new lens coating reduces flare and ghost, which is a common problem of digital cameras and also creates an optimum color balance. This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 45cm (17.7 in.) at all focal lengths and has maximum magnification of 1:4.4.

The lens design incorporates an inner focusing system, which prevents the front of the lens from rotating, making it particularly suitable for using circular polarizing filters and petal shaped lens hoods. The overall length of the lens does not change during focusing, ensuring convenient handling and ease of use. A zoom lock switch eliminates zoom creep during transportation, a convenient addition when traveling.

This is my "go to" lens. I have found it to be extremely versatile for all of my photography needs. It does well for close-up work but gives a nice panoramic view at the 188mm setting. I do a lot of wildlife photography and have found the auto focus to be a little slower than a popular counterpart but it produces excellent photos. I use a UV filter so lens scratches arent an issue.

My dog knocked over my camera and I had to purchase a new lens in short notice to go to Chicago. Went to Ritz and found this little gem. I did alot of downtown building pictures and night shots. I was amazed at the clarity of the night time shots. I'm by no means a pro but this camera is right for the price.

I love this lens. It is perfect to keep on your camera for everyday shots. This is the lens that I have on my Canon Rebel XTi all the time, because it is perfect for capturing that shot when it comes around, I always have my camera with me along with this lens. It is a perfect weight, and focus nicely. It is definatlly a great lens for the price. As well as a great lens to upgrade to from a kit lens.

A good all around lens. This is the lens I keep on my camera when I am out walking around or want to be able to go moderately here to there without changing lens. Small and compact it fits great in my bag. Lens if prone to creep it vertical, but lock helps to protect when moving.
