I purchased for the bedroom after looking at several brands at local box stores. [...]This set has a much clearer picture @ 1000 to 1.With a set of regular rabbit ears I had from an old set I was able to get a total of 26 channels without hooking up to cable. This would work great for anyone without cable. I didn't give 5 stars because of the 4 second delay changing channels and the sound quality isn't that great. I purchased a set of computer speakers and attached via audio port in the rear and now it rocks.
I haven't removed protective cover yet.
