I bought this printer with my digital camara but 2 of the 6 inks that came with were not working. I bought the two colors myself and the printer is printing photos with distorted colors and lines everywhere. I am not very satisfied at this point.

I use this product for photos, CD\DVDs, and inserts and inlays for DVD cases.

For $100 (even cheaper with the current discount), you're getting a phenomonal value. The photo quality is high, but I do most of my photo printing through White House, so it wasn't my primary emphasis.

The main reason I bought the R280 was printing on CD\DVDs and printing out the cover inserts and inlaws for DVDs. The print quality, ease of use, and speed are all fantastic. I'm using Verbatim media for CDs\DVDs, and they print clean. The Epson Premium Presentation Paper is the perfect weight for DVD inlays (the insert that sits to the left of the disc), and Epson Photo Quality Glossy Paper for the cover inserts. They all look extremely professional.

I'm new to having a computer @ home, so I was really pleased that this device installed itself after I gave up trying to figure out what Microsoft was telling me to do. All I had to do was install the ink, plug it in, insert the cd and plug in a USB cable. I had to buy the cable separately but I found one on ebay for five bucks with free shipping.Before I bought, I read a few reviews wherein people complained about the machine not recognizing that the ink cartridges were installed. I had this problem too -- for about ten seconds. I just raised the lid, took out the offender and snapped it back in more securely. Problem solved.I haven't printed any pics on photo paper yet but it sure makes nice color copies! I got it as my main printer, so photo capability is just a bonus for me. [...] I couldn't be happier with it, or with Ritz. Thanks, Ritz! We'll do business again!

For an entry level, inexpensive printer - you can't beat this baby. It's fast, it prints borderless photos perfectly. It accepts different size pages easily.
You'll notice a little bit of imperfection close up in the photos, but for the most part - the color's great and for an entry level printer - you can't beat it.

I got this printer because I was buying a digital camera and could get the printer and send in a rebate and get my money back--I couldn't pass up something for free. Set up was easy and print quality is good, but the printer is much larger than I thought it would be. It was a good buy for my money.

Although this printer does everything it promises,
there are printers out there with better features for a little more money. If you are a casual user this printer will work great for you. For the frequent user, it falls behind. For the heavy duty user, don't even think about buying this unit. Extra fine quality and heavy uses are not what this printer was designed to do.

The R280 is a very good printer that produces Kodak like prints. Only drawback is no SD card slot, so u have to hook it up to the computer.

I purchased a Nikon D90 and received the printer free. I had recently purchased a Kodak all in one printer and love it. I had no intention on changing printers but was curious to see if there was a difference in quality between the two. Kodak won hands down. The quality of the picture was much better with the Kodak.

I found this printer very easy to use and set up.
Not only does it print quickly but very nicely was well. I was very happy with the CD software that comes with that helps to design covers for CDs. I was able to easily design several differnt logos and templates and print them in no time.

Ink Cartridges supplied with new printer failed after two days and very infrequent use. Unit was set-up correctly. Printed three 8x10 documents and five 4 x 6 photos. Called technical support and they agreed to send three new cartridges. Tech support suggested that ink was old and beyond ideal shelf life. Today, five of the six ink cartridges indicate needed replacement.

I know that printers don't come with a cable. I already had 2 USB cables anyway. I like the individual color cartridges, so that you don't waste ink when one color runs out. This is my first real Photo Printer so don't have much to compare it to. It was free after rebate with my digital camera purchase.

Even though this printer is on a promotion, I can't believe Epson is so cheap that they cannot provide a USB cable!! This is a [$]part!! Instead, unless on has one on hand, you have to run to the store to buy - not practicle during the holiday season!!Bah Humbug - if it weren't part of the promotion, I would ship it back for lack of cable.

The Epson R280 photo printer is cheap and the printing speed is quite fast. It has built-in auto photo correction which corrects the lighting in poorly exposed photos. It also print images and text directly onto ink jet printable CDs and DVDs, a feature I am really fond of. It's a good printer though I am not sure how fast the ink will run out.
