I bought this for my son for Christmas.. While at a relitives for the day, my son and his 2 cousins' who recieved ipod nanos were comparing their mp3 players... and our cousins' were actually upset because the wished they had of knowm about Sansa so they could have asked for them instead!

bought this item for my 11 year old, who's been clamoring for an ipod. all kids know these days is "ipod," so kudos to apple for doing what they set out to do: equating "ipod" with "mp3 player" like "kleenex" to tissues, and "band-aid" with, well, band-aids.
anyway, it's easy to set up, easy to use, and although "rhapsody" isn't my fav. online music subscription service (not that I've tried many), as the bundled and default software it's simple to navigate and to add songs to the sansa. I also like the way you can rip cds if you want.
I've heard gripes both from users as well as online reviews about the sansa not being able to support jpegs or anything else you want to add to it until you run them through the bundled conversion software, but it's simple and quick to do, and that's just us being spoiled by everything having to be compatible these days.
