Comments about Lowepro Lowepro TLZ Mini:
This case seems to be as good or better than the camera mfg. case that came with my previous DSLR
with the exception of not being a custom fit.
I bought this case for my recently purchased Nikon D40 DSLR. I am pleased with how well the camera w/lens fits inside. It has what feels like quality dense padding and outer material. I may try and insert some additional foam padding cut to the contour of the lens/body to attain a snugger, more custom fit.

Comments about Lowepro Lowepro TLZ Mini:
As the description suggests, this is a good, minimal case to for an SLR camera with a compact lens. It is fairly inexpensive.
Be advised that it provides only very minimal protection. I dropped my brand new D50 onto the pavement while it was in this case, and it cost me the lens. The camera body survived unscathed.
I would recommend this case for storing your camera. It will keep the dust off, and protect it from scratches and small bumps and bounces. I would also recommend this case for traveling if you have a larger, better reinforced bag in which to carry it. If you already have a nice day-pack, you can avoid buying an expensive special-purpose camera case.
I have also used it on day-trips around the city. However, it cannot accommodate anything but your camera, and perhaps a water bottle clipped to the strap, so this use will have limited appeal.
The Lowepro TLZ Mini in Rome. And me.
