The Quantaray QTB 7500A requires a separate module that attaches to the bottom and has the proper electronic circuitry for the camera you are using. Enjoy big savings with this versatile flash/module arrangement. If you carry several cameras in your bag, or decide to upgrade your camera later, you only need to match the QTB 7500A 's dedicated flash module to the camera you are using!
The QTB 7500A features TTL exposure operation, a manual zoom head, a focus assist beam, bounce and swivel head, and guide numbers from 72 to 96 (depending on zoom position), an ?extra? small flash on the front for filling in shadows, and an auto off. The QTB 7500A is a terrific flash for the general photographer.

Comments about Quantaray Quantaray QTB-7500A Auto Flash Base (w/o module):
Interchangable bases allow for use with different camera models. This is primarily a film flash. TTL modules for film models may fit your digital camera, but will not operate the TTL correctly. As a con (for me) the Minolta Maxxum mount should have an auto non-ttl mode. (I rigged one out of the Canon mount.).
On digital, it works best to set the white balance to daylight/sunshine. In Auto white balance mode on Minolta 5D & Sony a700, images have a blueish cast. Colors look fine once set to daylight.

Comments about Quantaray Quantaray QTB-7500A Auto Flash Base (w/o module):
What I like about the 7500 is that it is interchangable for different cameras using the module. I have a Canon A1 and have used this flash for many years. Now that I have a new EOS Digital, I can use the manual focus module or can use the Auto focus module. However, the digital module designed for the EOS digitals will not fit the 7500. If you are looking for the swivel and bounce features, the 9550D will work but you cannot use the old side handle battery pack accessory. Since I like to detach the flash from the camera, especially when shooting through glass, I can use the side handle accessory that works with the 7500 from a side angle. The side handle accessory also holds an additional battery power source for quicker recycle time.
