Comments about Nikon Nikon D5100 DX-format Digital SLR Camera w/ 18-55mm VR Lens:

The worst is the shutter delay, it is annoying. I had a birthday party two days ago and I was frustrated that I was always late at capturing good images because of this delay. For the money I pay, I was expecting more...Can I return it!

Comments about Nikon Nikon D5100 DX-format Digital SLR Camera w/ 18-55mm VR Lens:

I have been looking at DSLR's for a long time now. I chose the D5100 because the sensor that is used is the same as in the D7000, plus it has the awesome 3 inch 920,000 dot LCD that makes viewing pictures a pleasure, and it is pretty light for a DSLR. I have only taken about 500 shots with it so far and the experience has been excellent. I mostly take shots of my family/3 year old and do some dabbling with the effects mode for a few artsy photos. Obviously this camera is not aimed at photographic professionals given it's low price point and "watered down features" (compared to the D7000). But for a beginner or photo enthusiast I believe that this camera packs a great amount into a small space for a reasonable price.

Comments about Nikon Nikon D5100 DX-format Digital SLR Camera w/ 18-55mm VR Lens:

Totally worth the price difference between this and the Nikon d3100. The higher megapixel count, the external mic input (that was big for me), the flip-out display... awesome camera. Great for the price.
