  • Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) Mode : Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) Mode automatically detects nine different types of scenes and, within just 1/30th of a second, selects the appropriate camera settings: Backlight, Backlight Portrait, Twilight, Twilight Portrait, Twilight using a tripod, Portrait, Landscape and Macro. iSCN has two modes: Auto and Advanced. In Auto Mode, the camera takes a single shot using the optimal settings.     I purchased this camera because I take an incredible amount of photos of my two children. Poor choice. I returned it after most of the shots were of the backs of their heads due to the lag between shots. I had hoped to find a smaller camera that I could throw in my purse, but I discovered it didn't matter if I could throw a camera in my purse if the only photos I captured were after the moment was over. So, I'm sticking with my Nikon D40.

    As a retiree I wanted a smaller camera, but with more features. The Sony HX5V replaced my bulky old style digital but has higher resolution, longer zoom, face & smile detection, faster lens and processor, fantastic 3 inch viewfinder, and much more for very reasonable price. VERY pleased with photo results and ease of operation. Thanks Sony, for such a great camera!

    I have shoped every camera on the market I not a pro this an average picture taker, but from the time I fast pick the camera up its blow my shorts off how easy it to use and the results as if I had a degree in photographoly. I have cerebal Palsey and I shake alot but still my piture come out prefect, buy this camera you will not believe you eyes, i wish i could

    Receive the product 3 days ago, carried it with me all the time, takes great pictures, 10 fps is very impressive, as well as the panorama mode and the HD video. Although was a little bit disappointed by the 10 MP because I like to crop the pictures after the fact for best framing. Also the fast action focus was slow when I tried to shoot birds on the beach or kids jumping on the trampoline. I guess I expected the same results than a dslr.
