This is a real value with features usually found on cameras costing twiced a much. The only thing I would improve, would be a "built in" rechargable battery pack. But that would probably jack the price way up.

I wasn't expecting a lot from such a cheap camera, but I was impressed. It's very easy to use and takes good pictures. The menus are simple and intuitive. I was surprised to see a 5x optical zoom; most others in this price range only offer 3x. This isn't a DSLR replacement by any means, but it's better than the average compact.
That said, it certainly isn't perfect. It goes through batteries quickly, so rechargeables are a must. It also only uses xD Picture Cards, not the cheaper SD cards. Pictures taken in dimly lit rooms are hit or miss. Even some outdoor shots were a bit dark, but the software corrects this well.
Overall, this is an above-average camera that outperforms many of the more expensive models, but don't expect professional quality.

My dad gave me this camera as a present and it was just in time for my Fall retreat. I was able to take very good quality pictures for such a compact camera. Since I have had it for a month I do not have any complaints. I love the color.

There are reasons some camera are inexpensive: they are cheaply constructed. While it is an okay camera for a teen or youth, most adults who have used other cameras will probably be disappointed. The lag time alone made me put this back in the box, you better be sure you are taking the right shot the first time because by the time you can take another shot it will be all over. The picture quality was also horribly grainy inside, I didn't bother with outside. If you want a [$] camera to take as a throw away on a vacation or give to a kid this is it. It is cute and the buttons are where they should be, but if you want an inexpensive second camera go with a Nikon Coolpix for the same money.

This Camera was purchased because I've had a trusty D-360L that I've lugged over 3 continents and used in business and family purposes since 1998. I can't believe the changes. The new camera is easy enough to use that my 80 year old parents were able to point and shoot Christmas morning.

I love the pictures this camera takes. It is easy to use, quick to set between pics and lightweight enough that I can carry it in my purse without feeling weighted down. The only problem is the short battery life but fortunately I got the recharger with the camera and that helps.

I really enjoy this camera, for the little time I've had it so far it has served it's purpose well. It takes grear pictures, and it's a little more rugged than my previous camera. The only cons with this camera are that is uses rechargeable AA batteries. I would prefer it to be a lithium battery seeing as how it holds a longer charge. But other than that it is a very serviceable camera for anyone who just wants to capture those special moments!

I have both the FE-310 and the FE-340.. the main setup is exactly the same on all Olympus so that part is nice, but the 310 is much more noisier and the auto focus doesnt seem to work as well as on the 340.. spend the extra money and buy the better model its well worth it, plus the battery is a pack on the 340 rather than AA batteries like the 310 has.

I picked this because my favorite color is orange. That should tell you how I make choices about electronics. I'm a basic user and I really like this camera, although the battery life is AWFUL. However, they give you 2 sets of rechargeable batteries and a recharger so it sort of evens out. Reasonable by for someone who is not very technologically inclined.

I bought it for my 10 year old daughter and she had it figured out before I did. It takes such great pictures that I have her bring it everywhere. We have not had any problems with it and the whole family enjoys it.I am consider getting another one for my other daughter. We love it..

This isn't a bad camera for the price (less than [$]). It is not made for an expert photographer, but for vacations, etc. it works fine. The batteries "die" quickly. While taking pics on vacation we had to replace the batteries a couple of times a day. Luckily they were just AA, so not that expensive to replace. Orange color makes it easy to find!

i purchased the camera because i was going to a music festival and i couldn't bring my digital slr. 2 weeks later, it won't turn on so now i have photos stuck on a memory card and have to send the camera to the olympus repair center. [...]. as if i knew the camera was going to break 2 weeks after i bought it. this product sucks and i should have gotten a canon, but the price was irresistible and the company reputable.
