Try a high angle for overhead images, waist level for candid shots or a low vantage point for a look from ground level as well as for the fun of taking self-portraits.

Express Yourself
Whether taking still pictures or recording Full HD movies, use the Effects Mode to add a creative touch to your images. Select from the amazing array of special effects such as Selective Color, to isolate any color within a scene or Night Vision to capture details in places too dark for your own eyes. Try High Key to create bright, glowing images filled with atmosphere or emphasize the mood of a scene using Low Key, or Miniature Effect, which makes a scene look like a miniature scale model! There are countless ways to take your imagination and images to the next level. In extreme high contrast light situations, the all-new HDR setting makes sure you get a good photograph by creating a composite image that brings out more details with less noise and richer color gradation. As your skills develop, you will find more ways to not only take incredible pictures and movies, but also make them truly stand out.

Comments about Nikon Nikon D5100 DX-format Digital SLR Camera (Body Only):

The D5100 delivers very high quality results in a really compact, lightweight and economical camera. It follows in the tradition of the D5000, where Nikon provides high end professional features in a quality built budget priced camera. Low light, high ISO photographs are excellent, which is extremely important to me when photographing indoors. The scene modes are great, especially the Child mode setting. Active D-Lighting really helps when photographing high contrast scenes. The new built-in HDR mode is fantastic. I just recommend when using the HDR mode, to mount the camera on a tripod in most cases, for best results, with a scene that is fairly static (little or no movement in the scene). I'm waiting for a third party manufacturer to produce a right angle L bracket, so I can buy it for use in my landscape photography work. This camera includes so much for the money, its worth every penny you pay for it.
