4-Way VR Image Stabilization:
- Nikon's Optical VR Image Stabilization compensates for the effects of camera shake with elements built into the camera's lens. This produces clearer, sharper results in lower lighting or unsteady conditions.
- Motion Detection automatically detects moving subjects and adjusts the shutter speed and the ISO setting to compensate for camera shake and subject movement.

After reading the users manual, charging and inserting the battery, and inserting the 4Gb card and trying to take a few photos, the camera continually locked up all controls. None of the controls would respond - not even the On-Off button. I had to do a "hard boot" by disconnecting/reconnecting the battery. Even then, it continued to lock up after pressing the On/Off button to activate, then trying to take a picture. I promptly refunded the camera. What a stunning disappointment for a Nikon product!!

After inserting the battery the door would not lock and close properly so could not use the camera cause if you would hold it to take pictures the battery kept falling out.
