I purchase this for my wife and she loves it. she has a Canon 20D and uses this for trips, school, video, and when she doesn't want to lug the big Canon around. She learned to use the camera without any problems out of the box. I gave her a couple of pointers and she was off and running with the camera. She loves the big 3 inch screen. She loves the red color.

Fits the bill in every aspect. This is my third Nikon with all of them producing great photos. I believe the lens quality must be what accounts for the great quality of the photos. The instructions are very clear, so setting up the camera, etc. is no problem. Camera readily fits in your shirt pocket and is easily ready to go for those quick-take shots. I would have no reservations recommending this camera to any potential buyer.

Nice video quality. Very good macros with the macro mode. I would use this as an extra camera with my D40x SLR. I'd get a second battery for it cause its supposed to last for about 100 shots but the preview screen kills it fast. Very nice if you go to a lot of concerts and the 3200 ISO should come in handy. I also have to get some sort of screen protection and if it's available body protection.

I thought this camera would be a great buy considering it was a NIKON, but boy was I wrong. The shutter speed is extremely slow (even with the highest ISO) compared to my sisters Canon sd1000 powershot(which was 100$ less). The pictures look abysmal when you try to review them. I'm not sure if it's the screen or just the quality. (although i had it set at the highest MP) It had a gritty grainy look to it, not CRISP at all. I've received complaints taking pictures of my friends because the flash flashes multiple times just for one picture. The controls are also complicated. I see no point to the "scene" button that's included. the option to have picmotion slideshow is pretty neat. I would prefer a charger that's hooked up to the wall instead of a long cord attached to a rectangular receptacle (very inconvenient for travel). bottom line-i would not use this camera for pictures for sports events or travels because you never know what you're going to get. i prefer a consistent performance with a camera. I thought the performance of Nikon's SLR cameras would translate to their commercial digital cams but i guess not.
