GE has produced a fantastic camera in the X5 with a great 15x zoom, 14.1 megapixels, and tremendous picture quality for under [$]. The so called respected brands have nothing to compare at this price point. Auto settings work nicely, but the manual settings may help you win a photo contest.

when i use mt camera outside it stops working saying the lens is blocked nd turn it off when i turn it off the lens does not retract properly but after it cools of it works ok again until it gets worm again.

I bought this camera at [...] (Don't Buy From Them)I used it for a couple of days and it was very easy to operate. However, I found that the zoom was not up to par...I had more bad pictures then good and I tried all the different settings. I returned it to [...] and then bought a FUJI S1800 for around the same price. The Fuji is much better.

I used the camera outside hiking the Grand Canyon. I was able to zoom in and focus at high elevations and bright sunlight. Exceptional I felt like a pro. Yet the camera did the work. Auto focus and manual can be interchanged. I also used at night on the Las Vegas strip. even at night the camera took amazingly clear pictures. I used it inside before and after shows. Regardless of light conditions the pictures were exceptional. Easy to use and would recommend the purchase especially for the price.
