Versatile Shooting ModesA wide selection of shooting modes have been pre-programmed to ensure great photos in various scenes, eliminating the need to fine-tune camera settings when shooting in challenging situations. (Sport, Sunset , Flower)
Auto - This is the easiest mode for taking pictures. Use this mode for ordinary photography.
Baby mode - The function is suitable for taking pictures of young children.
Picture Stabilization - Used for selecting a fast shutter speed that reduces camera shake and moving-subject blurring.
Red-eye Reduction - Use this mode to minimize red-eye.
Digital Zoom - Use this mode allows you to enlarge your subject automatically 3x and to shoot enlarged image quickly.

Text - Use this mode to shoot documents and white board. It is effective for taking clearer shots of letters.
Manual - This mode provides more detailed settings that are impossible to set in Auto mode.

we were on vacation and our Nikon stopped working. bought the Fuji. not as easy to use as the Nikon coolpix; however, once you get used to the camera (which didn't take long) it is easy. you have to pick the scene; beach, night, etc for the best shot. 1 drawback - the automatic mode doesn't give the best shot. the manual should have more detail in it explaining the settings. we were on vacation and couldn't access that information that was in the CD that came with the camers. Luckily the rep at the store spent some additional time with us and helped us troubleshoot. good clear pictures and good clear videos... But as far as night shots, the Nikon coolpix has it beat!

I use this product mostly to take pictures of our kids and their birthdays, sporting events, holidays, etc... I like that it has a large screen, and each feature is pretty much self explanitory. The camera is pretty easy to use and upload onto the computer. It is pretty good in low light. I think the battery should last longer and that it should come with one memory card. Also, it would be nice to have a fast action mode for the sporting events. The pics come out blurry when trying to take a fast action shot and the shutter speed seems slow as well. I also thought the resolution would be better at 8.2 megapixels as compared to my old camera that just had 3.2, but when I get them developed, I don't see a major differnece. Deleting pictures is a little slow too. Overall, the camera is good for first time digital camera users, and is a good bargain for it's price.
