PROGRESSIVE SCAN:
Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.

DVD-R/RW RECORDING:
Record your favorite television shows and treasured home videos to either videocassette or DVD-R / DVD-RW discs.

PLAYABLE DISC:
This DVD player plays DVD Video, DVD-R/RW, video and audio CD, CD-R/RW, MP3, JPEG and Kodak Picture CD.

BUILT-IN ATSC TUNER:
Built-in ATSC tuner means it can receive Digital TV broadcasts without a separate set-top box. (SD Quality output)

4 HEAD AND HI-FI STEREO SOUND:
The 4-head VCR's Hi-Fi stereo recording system offers excellent sound quality, with a high dynamic range, wide frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.

A/V CABLE CONNECTIONS:
Inputs and outputs include front and rear stereo audio/video and an RF input/output for the VCR, and, for the DVD player, component-video, S-video, and composite-video outputs.

So far I have only copied some movies from old VHS tapes. Set up was simple and owners manual is easy to follow. Just make sure to select the proper record speed according to the movie length. Very satisfied with ease of operation. Would recommend it if you want to convert your old family tapes and classic movies to DVD.

The directions were great! I was set up in no time. I bought this to transfer 20-year-old VCR tapes of my kids to a more stable medium. Then, I hooked up my newer video camera, which uses the smaller tapes, and I was able to edit and transfer those as well. I am not a pro but I feel that this unit is of very nice quality, and it does what I tell it to.
