I ALWAYS GET THE MAT TO FIT THE DIE I HAVE. I STORE THE DIE AND THE MAT TOGETHER TO HELP PROTECT THE DIE.I ALSO MADE QUILTED BAGS FOR EACH DIE AND MAT.
