Have laptop on table by couch. Can set the trackball on a clipboard on my lap, or on a book, or the table. The ball moves easily, and covers a lot of area. I have a small hand and it tends to slide a bit on the unit. I have to reposition it occasionally. This is the second unit I have used. I had one of the original models at the office. Liked it so much, I got this for home.
