UDMA - what's it all about?
UDMA stands for Ultra Direct Memory Access - has become the new watchword for high performance in compact flash memory cards. Several newly launched DSLR cameras support the UDMA protocol and UDMA memory cards rated at 266x, 300x and higher are now on sale. UDMA memory cards rated at 40 MB/s (266x), 45 MB/s (300x) and higher are now on sale from SanDisk.
What is this exciting new UDMA technology?
DMA is a process by which data can be moved from a storage device very efficiently, without labouring the host device's processor. Ultra DMA is a set of definitions for faster and faster theoretical transfer rates ranging from Mode 0 (16.7 megabytes per second or MB/s) to Mode 5 (100 MB/s).

I purchased the card for my newly acquired Canon EOS 50D. It's extremely fast when it comes to reading as well as transferring the files to my laptop(It's 4+ year old PC). I can only imagine what it'd be like on a more powerful computer.

These cards simply eleimnate the need to carry many smaller cards. A few of these (expensive but fabulous) cards can hold vacations, weddings, corporate venues or any large event. They say these cards will last for many years and with the larger capacities that would be a tremendous help.

There is a noticeable difference in transfer time with the IV card!

I shoot horse photos so speed counts. The Extreme IV CF memory card is faster, decreasing the time between photos. The number of photos my Nikon D 70 digital SLR can take in continous shutter mode is increased. This card can make the difference between catching the action or the expression and getting a good photo or having another near miss.

I bought this card for a trip to Denali National Park, AK. I shoot with a Canon Rebel xTI and captured >600 pictures @ 10.2 mp without even coming close to filling up the memory. This of course means hauling less stuff around!

sandisk suport grate.but puc # on cards will not mach rebate from sandisk.walk in to ritz store and mach puc # up if you want money back.at full price still a good price for the speed.

The high speed interface is supported by the Nikon D300. The high speed though is not needed unless you shoot a lot of photos in the continues mode. I normally shoot at most 6 photos in a row than have nothing else to some time. The cheaper Extreme III is sufficient for my needs, with the buffer built into the Nikon D300.
