When I use Sony mini-DVDs, my DVDs generally complete formatting and do not give errors, when trying to copy them to a hard disk. But, even these every now and then, when you least expect them, can give you fatal errors and cause the loss of up to 30 minutes of recording. Use of Sony disks does help, but disks continue to be riskier than tapes.
