I bought this backpack for my son who is a graduate student. He has a 17-inch widescreen HP laptop computer and needed a backpack large enough to fit his laptop along with textbooks. This Wenger Ibex is a perfect solution. The laptop fits very nicely and is protected well with padding. There are plenty of other pockets for books and smaller items. One minor complaint is that it doesn't have a chest strap, which would help when carrying heavy loads. Overall, this backpack is extremely sturdy, well-made, nice-looking, and a great product.

So many pockets I still have trouble finding things but that's way better than not enough pockets. Very sturdy. The last back pack I will ever buy.

I ama web designer / developer and had just purchased a Sony VAIO 17". The Sonys are just a bit bigger than your normal 17" and I was having a problem finding a nice backpack that would still protect the laptop properly. Other backpacks that I had bought (and returned) said that they would fit but they fell way short of accomodating my laptop. Needless to say, I was nervous about this one, but when it arrived (in a timely fashion) it fit great and it seems to be a VERY sturdy backpack. Haven't gotten to hike with it yet, but I'm lookin' forward to it.
