The Expedition 5 is a medium size pack that offers foam-padded protection and quick access to multiple SLRs, lenses, flash and accessories. The main compartment is completely foam padded with numerous adjustable, foam-padded dividers to protect digital or film SLRs, 5-7 lenses, and a flash. The camera with a long zoom lens attached is suspended on two vertical, foam-padded dividers that are internally reinforced with rigid plastic. A restraint strap holds the lens firmly in place. Two Windowpane-Mesh pockets inside the front flap visibly organize filters, film and other accessories. A plastic, foam-padded platform in the bottom provides shock protection while a LockDown rain flap protects the zipper from the elements. A large front pocket with a water-resistant zipper holds a light jacket or extra gear.

Great pack, especially for the price! Comfortable, and lightweight. Have had Lowepro packs that have worn out much faster than this one. Had this one a long time and still looks and feels brand new!

This backpack looks big but by being rounded on one end makes it smaller. I have 2 bodies 1 long lens and 2 short lens as well as a flash and quantum battery. It does fit but you can't leave the lens hoods on the lens. Also the pockets are not deep at all on the outside not to much for storage there. IF you think this one will do get a bigger one. It is very easy to carry though. Well made. must be laid down to open up or everything will fall out. if you plan on changing lens alot a regular bag would be better. Great for transporting.

My wife is the photographer. I am the roadie. As such I have much experience lugging aroung camera bags and tripods which must be put down for access and can be easily misplaced or stolen. With the Expedition 5 (we already had the old 3 series for our N70 and accessories) I can now carry our new D80 with 18-135 lens and N70 with 28-80 and 70-240 lens; and all other accesories. My hands are always free. There is no fear of theft. All I have to do is turn around and let her rummage to her heart's content. The Expedition 5 is extremely rugged, well padded, waterproof, and comfortable to carry even with the addition of water bottles.
