Comments about Lowepro Lowepro Fastpack 350 Backpack (Black):

I have a Nikon D80 w/ vertical grip, 2 lenses and the SB900 flash. The camera equipment fits great and I have room for the 70-200mm lense that I will buy soon (hopefully). I also have a 14.1" laptop that has plenty of extra room. My cables, accessories and books fit in the top compartment. I read the other reviews and did not pay enough attention to the person who said that the bag was too big--it is! The 250 would have probably served my purpose, but I know that the camera section would not have been big enough. One day, I'll have enough equipment to justify this bag.

Comments about Lowepro Lowepro Fastpack 350 Backpack (Black):

I searched for weeks for a bag that would fit my needs and finally decided on this one. I am really glad I did. It fits my 15" MBP great and really protects it with the thick padding. The camera compartment is roomy enough for several lenses, my D90 and other accessories. Plus, the upper storage compartment is large enough for my laptop accessories, moleskine notebook and a hat or jacket. I highly recommend this backpack.

Comments about Lowepro Lowepro Fastpack 350 Backpack (Black):

I decided to order the 250 because the 350 was too large for my daily newspaper reporting use. It looks like something one would take for a long outdoor assignment.

Comments about Lowepro Lowepro Fastpack 350 Backpack (Black):

I initially bought the 350 to carry my camera gear and notebook while covering a five day conference.

I've regularly loaded the 350 up with a Canon 30D, two lenses, and a 17" HP DV9000 series laptop. The laptop is a snug fit - don't expect to get anything bigger than 17" inside. Having the laptop next to my back makes for an easy carry and keeps the computer out of the way of the camera gear.

I didn't find the photo gear dividers all that flexible - you're pretty limited by the layout of the velcro. But it should suffice for most uses.

I found it fairly easy to extract the camera from its compartment while wearing the backpack, although not everyone will be comfortable doing this. Getting the camera back in can be a bit trickier but also works reasonably well.

The top compartment isn't overly large but there's room for a water bottle, a snack and maybe a light jacket. Set the pack down on the ground and in most cases (depending on how you've loaded your gear) the bag will stand up nicely making the top compartment readily accessible.

I've taken to storing my camera gear in this bag full time; if I'm not packing a laptop I'll fold up a jacket and slip it into the laptop pocket, leaving more room in the top compartment.

The only downside so far is the smell of the fabric, which I find objectionable. But I don't often notice the smell and I doubt it will bother very many people.

On the whole I'm quite happy with this backpack.

Comments about Lowepro Lowepro Fastpack 350 Backpack (Black):

I bought the Fastpack 350 after researching packs of all sorts. It was important to me that I have security and protection for both my camera equipment and my 17" laptop, and mobility to carry everything while driving my scooter. This pack guarantees all. The size and weight of the pack are hardly little, but acceptable. I don't recommend carrying the loaded pack for long, and certainly not while you're shooting, unless you want to sweat to death or break your back.

The only issue I wish Lowepro would perhaps improve is the backpack nature of it. I'm a 5'6" woman with average dimensions and cannot believe how the waist belt straps nearly around my ribs (making it worthless for keeping the weight of the pack on my hips), yet, all the straps have ten to twelve extra inches on them, as if suitable for an even larger person. I suppose I need to be shorter but much larger around for this pack to be a better fit.
