With the Composer, Lensbaby introduces a completely new lens, based on a ball and socket configuration that delivers smooth selective focus photography with unparalleled ease. The new Composer retains its position after being bent and is easy to use even with one hand. Photographers no longer have to squeeze the lens to focus, but can simply tilt the lens to a desired angle and then focus with a traditional barrel focusing ring. The Composer stays in the desired bent position without requiring a locking mechanism and features the new Lensbaby Optic Swap System.

The Composer features a unique manual focus design which requires more rotation to move the optic as you approach infinity. This makes it easier to focus on objects at intermediate and distant depths than regular manual focus lenses.

All Lensbaby lenses bring one area of a photo into sharpest focus with that Sweet Spot surrounded by gradually increasing blur. By bending the Lensbaby lens, the photographer moves the sharp area around the photo for customized creative effects.

Comments about Lensbabies Lensbabies Composer-(Nikon):

The first time I used my lensbabie composer was at the Aquarium. This is an extremely difficult place to shoot because of the low light and the various types of lighting used. I was surprised how many great pictures I got with the lensbabie.

Since it was my first time using the lensbabie I put my Nikon D300 on Program. The focus was very sharp and some of the interesting effects were amazing. I was so impressed I ordered the accessories like macro and telephoto to go with my composer. If you want to kick your photography up a notch, the composer is what you need.

Comments about Lensbabies Lensbabies Composer-(Nikon):

I use this Lensbaby on my Nikon D90. The D90 does not auto-meter with full manual lenses, and for the price it would have been nice to have a cpu in this lens that can communicate to the D90. However, it is a VERY FUN lens to shoot with. I bought the "accessory kit" to go with it including the wideangle and telephoto plus macro lens kit. This lens was the life of a recent party we had - EVERYBODY wanted to play with it. In a dim room its a little hard to pull focus at the higher f values so while its a fast lens (at f/2.0) its not as useful at night as you might think. But we bumped it to f/4 and taught people how to adjust the exposure based on the LCD preview and it works great in manual mode.

The D300 among other cameras will auto-meter with this lens - its just a deficiency in the lower-model Nikons that they don't.

However, video with this lens is insanely cool! Its really dreamy and fun to float the focus point around. After you practice with this lens for a bit, the fiddly bits become almost second nature, so don't worry if you don't get it right exactly the first time!
