I am an amateur photographer and I use this on a Canon Powershot G10 with an external flash in the hot shoe. For those of you worried about size, when folded it is 4.25" long. It's incredibly stable (even with the flash mounted) and made from strong light weight metal. The rich bronze color adds a look of high quality. The collapsible legs have 5 sections that pull out (no clamps needed - they are held by friction) with a soft, black rubber stopper on the end. The rotating ball head is a huge plus and allows for a full range of landscape leveling or portrait shooting. This a a great product at an unbelievable price! No more super imposing the photographer's head into the photo. Just put this in position, set the timer and step into the frame.
