Comments about Quantaray Quantaray Versipod 2 Monopod-Tripod with Standard Metal Ball Head:
When using as a tripod, it is VERY in places where a standard tripod won't fit. If there is a con, it's that I have to carry it as a walking stick when I'm not taking pictures. I would prefer to carry it in a backpack or something similar if it were able to become shorter when I was done taking pictures.
Comments about Quantaray Quantaray Versipod 2 Monopod-Tripod with Standard Metal Ball Head:
In a previous review of this product I panned it because of the weak grip of the ballhead. I have replaced the standard ballhead with the magnetic version which works fine. If you are considering this product, spend the extra bucks for the magnetic ballhead.
Comments about Quantaray Quantaray Versipod 2 Monopod-Tripod with Standard Metal Ball Head:
This product has a serious flaw-the ball head. It has a very weak grip. The instructions are specific in explaining the limits of weight and overhang distance, and my camera-lens combination was well within these limits, but I could not tighten the tiny wing-screw sufficiently to prevent slippage. The ball head is now on its way to the manufacturer for repair.

VersiPod 2 by Sunpak and Quantaray are products designed and produced by Trek-Tech specifically for the mainstream photography marketplace. In order to reduce cost on the VersiPod 2 products, they are not engineered for hiking/walking or wading staff use—they are intended to be used as combination monopod/tripods only.[...]

Comments about Quantaray Quantaray Versipod 2 Monopod-Tripod with Standard Metal Ball Head:
This pod has it's limitations I'll admit. BUT! I bought it and first used it for Comic-Con San Diego 2007 and what a perfect match for that type of utility it was! It was so crowded there that space was at it's minimum so tripods were OUT! The Versipod 2 fit in so well by seemingly resembling a walking stick that could be kept close to me, but becoming a monopod by just popping the camera on top with the magmount. But I also noted that while in the conferences, with the tripod legs extended, it put my camera at eye level while seated. Now, it did wobble some while like that, but I soon figured out to set my timer delay to 10 seconds to accommodate. I also learned an important lesson about tightening the camera adapter, use pliers! I lost my strong mount and had to replace it on the net. Ugh! I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the "picture".
Remember, it has its limits, but when those limits are the situation, its PERFECT!! Awesome!!
